Below is an alphabetical list of ministries at Sunrise Church. The purpose of our ministries is to serve the community and church body. We believe that ministry is vital in growing your relationship with Christ and is a part of the "1-1-1" Plan: One worship service, one small group or Sunday school and one ministry.
AWANA
The purpose of AWANA is to reach children and youth with the good news of Jesus. We provide a fun, safe, and exciting atmosphere to grow together in the knowledge of Christ and the Gospel.
Awana meets Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Ages 3 years to 12th grade. September-May.
*WINTER WEATHER: We follow the Puyallup School District schedule. If Puyallup SD cancels school due to weather, there will be no Awana club that night. However, if there is only a 2-hour late start, there will be Awana.

children’s ministry
Sunrise Children’s Ministry teaches kids from birth to 5th grade, during Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Awana (3 yrs+), how to grow in their walk with Jesus. All volunteers have received child safety training and have had a background check.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Our Congregational Care Director does hospital visits, visits the shut-ins, and shares prayer requests with our church. if you are ill, going into the hospital, or need prayer, please contact the church office.

community partnerships
Practicing the “Love Others” aspect of our vision statement by serving our community through intentional, planned partnerships with established organizations that are serving the community.

Deacons
As servant-leaders, our deacons serve with the pastoral staff in equipping the church to care for church members and other persons in the community. Some of the current duties of our deacons include assisting the pastors with: Baptisms, Lord's Supper, administering the help/benevolence fund and connecting visitors, attenders, and new members with the body of believers at Sunrise Church.

Education
The Education Director directs the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive adult Bible study ministry that is consistent with the church's vision and mission statement.

MEN
Men’s ministry, (M.A.L.E.—Men At Large Encouraging), is dedicated to following Gods direction in gathering men together to edify Christ first, encourage each other, and build relationships that can grow in Christ and give glory to our Lord! Hebrews 3:13

MISSION DEVELOPMENT TEAM
The Mission Development Team strives to follow God's calling in Matthew 28 to "make disciples of all nations". We do this by identifying opportunities for mission service, providing education about mission programs, and leading Sunrise in the support of Missions in Puyallup, the Northwest, and the world.

Property & Space
We aim for members of the Property and Space Team to maintain a beautiful, safe worship experience on the Sunrise campus for all members and visitors.

Our goal is to protect the church, guests and property with trained volunteers and staying up-to-date with the latest security measures.

SeNIOR ADULTS
A ministry of outreach to encourage, support, serve, and love our seniors. We plan to have special social events for fun and fellowship throughout the year. Please contact me with your questions or concerns, at 253-847-1097.

Women
Women’s ministry exists to help women grow in their relationship with God, and each other. Women’s Ministries provides women with an opportunity to study God’s Word, serve others, and give and receive biblically sound support. Women’s ministry is women connecting with women and encouraging their walk with Christ.

Worship
The Worship Arts Ministry at Sunrise exists to help people understand the character, nature, and works of God so that they can worship Him with all of their hearts, soul, mind, and strength. This occurs weekly through cooperative worship music but also can encompass dramas, multi-media presentations, art, dance, and any other creative giftedness that God has put in people’s lives.

youth
Our goal is to teach youth in 6th grade to 12th grade how to deepen their relationship with Christ. We meet during the Sunday School hour and have Awana through 12th grade on Wednesdays. All volunteers have gone through background checks and have child safety training.
